Noosa Attractions

Noosa is famous for integrating the natural and built environments to provide visitors with the sense that they have arrived in paradise. Although this is not to say that modern amenities and top restaurants that the discerning traveller of today expects are absent from the equation!

NOOSA ATTRACTIONS

Noosa attractions include fine dining, plenty of water-based activities, quaint hinterland mountain villages, national parks and some excellent shopping opportunities. The Noosa district encompasses a string of connected towns, including Noosaville, and Tewantin, so check the section below for some fun and interesting Noosa attractions.

NOOSA HEADS

Noosa Heads, which incorporates the canal estate of Noosa Sound, the Hastings Street area, exclusive Little Cove and Noosa Hill, borders the pretty Laguna Bay. Noosa National Park, the town’s pride and joy, is adjacent to the town. Nearby Noosa Junction has supermarkets, shopping complexes and a cinema centre. Sunshine Beach, to the south of Noosa National Park, is an exclusive beachside town with a small shopping centre, some top restaurants and a surf lifesaving club.

NOOSA RIVER

The Noosa River has over 40km of navigable waterways. Bordering the river, and next to Noosa Heads, the township of Noosaville has lots of cafés, restaurants, and boat hire establishments. All kinds of watercraft can be found on the river and cruises depart from Noosa Harbour Market Town. The nearby town of Tewantin, the administrative hub of the region, has the interesting Noosa Regional Gallery and is the access point for trips to the north shore and Fraser Island.

ANNUAL NOOSA EVENTS

Each year Noosa hosts a series of top Noosa attractions that are worth planning a visit around. In March, the Noosa Festival of Surfing brings longboard enthusiasts out of the woodworks, while in June cultural types come for the Noosa Long Weekend, when art, music, theatre and other cultural events are staged. Noosa Springs hosts the Noosa Festival of Tennis in July, whilst the tiny town of Pomona comes alive with the famed King of the Mountain race on Mt Cooroora. The Noosa Jazz Festival is held in September, and the year’s biggest event, the Noosa Triathlon holds the district’s attention in the last week of October.
